The Foundation for Women’s Health Research and Development (FORWARD), founded in 1985, is a niche African-led women’s rights organisation that champions the equality and rights of African women and girls in the UK, Europe and Africa. We work to end all forms of violence against women and girls from female genital mutilation and child marriage to domestic and sexual violence. We tackle abuse and discrimination, enabling African women and girls to have the dignity, health and equality they deserve.
Location: West London with home-working flexibility
Reports to: Human Resources and Operations Manager
Responsible for: Office Volunteers
Salary: £28,371 – £31,500
Hours: Full time, 35 hours a week
Duration: Permanent
Benefits: Access to a 3% pension contribution and 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata). We also provide employees two days additional “duvet days between Christmas and New Year.”
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Human Resources & Operations Officer to support the efficient running of our HR and administration operations. This role involves managing key HR functions, including recruitment, induction, employee relations, and maintaining HR databases. You will also oversee office management, provide IT support, and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of administrative systems and processes. This is a busy and varied role which requires a flexible approach and you will need to be able to work using your own initiative, autonomously and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support staff recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
- Maintain and update HR systems, policies, and personnel records.
- Assist with employee relations, performance reviews, and HR reporting.
- Ensure effective office administration, including IT and equipment management.
- Organise meetings, events, and logistics for internal and external stakeholders.
About You:
You will have experience in HR administration, excellent organisational skills, and a keen eye for detail. A proactive approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are essential for this role.
