FORWARD, alongside Co-Chairs IKWRO, Independent Yemen Group and Karma Nirvanna have published the following statement in response to the new Childline figures on forced marriage calls.

FORWARD supports the Joint Statement recently released by a coalition of civil society organisations on the right of re-entry to school for girls after they have given birth to be upheld.

Tuwezeshe Akina Dada is a youth project led by FORWARD across 5 countries in the UK and Africa which aims to nurture the next generation of young African women leaders

FORWARD’s partner initiative, Tuwezeshe Akina Dada, is looking for young African women to take an active role in the England branch of the movement!

In March 2017, a group of members of the African diaspora developed and performed in a theatre production Uncomfortable Conversations in a Foreign Land. The project was done in partnership between FORWARD and Grinnell College and a number of FORWARD’s Community Champions took part.

In February 2017 FORWARD hosted Tackling Female Genital Mutilation in Schools: Adopting a Holistic and Proactive Approach, a one day pan-European conference, alongside the End FGM European Network.

Acton Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) Community Clinic have just been told that their funding will be stopped in March 2017. The clinic is a specialist FGM service that has been running for 10 years, it provides counselling, support and de-infibulation procedures (Type 3 FGM reversal) for girls and women affected by FGM.
