Lynne Featherstone MP Visits FORWARD

To mark International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) on 6th February 2013, DFID Minister and MP Lynne Featherstone met with FORWARD staff and Trustees to discuss FORWARD’s work tackling FGM in the UK and in Africa.

The Minister heard from a range of FORWARD programme leads including our Youth programme, Community Programme and Africa Programme about our work in ending FGM, child marriage and obstetric fistula.

This was an opportunity for FORWARD to discuss the complexities of the issues and more about our work in Africa and with the diaspora community. In her capacity as DFID Minister Lynne Featherstone said – “It is one of my priority issues whilst in the DFID office to help end FGM”.
