FORWARD is the African women-led organisation working to end violence against women and girls. From female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage to domestic and sexual violence, we tackle abuse and discrimination – enabling African women and girls to have the dignity, health and equality they deserve.
We are currently looking for a passionate and creative graphic design volunteer to support our communications work, contributing to the creative design of social media graphics and communications materials for the organisation!
Job purpose
The chosen volunteer will help us bring our social media posts to life, to deliver vibrant, dynamic and educational content to our followers. You will work closely with the communications team to execute ideas for social media posts that will help drive engagement, gain followers and strengthen FORWARD’s overall digital presence. This content will range from tiles that celebrate international and national observances to resources about violence against women and girls, facts and stats, and FORWARD’s work, values and mission.
You will also have an opportunity to contribute to the design of other fundamental day-to-day design work such as flyers, posters and brochures. This is a great opportunity to boost your CV and showcase your talent, all for an incredible cause!
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with the communications team to plan and bring to life social media graphics in line with the FORWARD branding and digital communications strategy.
- Compose high-quality and eye-catching graphics using programmes such as Canva and Adobe for FORWARD social media in adherence to our branding guidelines.
- Contribute to innovative ideas for educational social media posts and graphics.
- Research trends in educational Instagram graphic design and layout.
- Support the design of other communications materials such as event and programme flyers, posters and brochures.
About you
You could be anyone from a graphic design student to a creative director. You just need to have a flare for creativity and design, and fluency in using Adobe programmes and other graphic design platforms such as Canva! Not only will you be a natural at developing concepts and layouts for graphics, but you will also be passionate about women’s and girls’ rights and share FORWARD’s core values.
