Freeplay Energy donates solar radios to FORWARD

To mark International Women’s Day, Freeplay Energy have kindly donated solar radios to our programmes working with girls and women in rural areas of Tanzania, Ghana and Sierra Leone.

The radios will be used in Community Listening Groups at our resource centres, which aim to develop leadership capacity and skills of vulnerable girls and young women. Many of the areas we work have intermittent access to electricity, these solar radios will provide access to local information affecting the women and girls daily lives, and international news even in the absence of electricity.

FORWARD would like to thank Freeplay Energy for making a difference to the women and girls on our projects this International Women’s Day, the radios are a fantastic way of broadening the access these women/girls have to information, services and also language skills.
