A message from FORWARD on COVID-19
To our community, funders, partners and friends,
As the situation of COVID-19 continues to unfold, I want to let you know of the steps we are taking to ensure that we continue to support the women and girls that we serve. First, however, our thoughts go to our friends and colleagues in the health sector delivering frontline support.
To protect the health and safety of our staff and communities, we have sadly decided to postpone all our upcoming events, training and face-to-face support. Our UK teams continue to work online and via telephone to provide our services.
In this time of crisis, we know that vulnerable women and girls will suffer disproportionately. Many in lockdown and isolation are becoming trapped with their domestic abusers. Many already struggling with uncertain migration status will also now face reduced access to economic, legal and health support.
We must now work even harder to protect them. We have swiftly diverted resources to our online and phone support services. We also continue to liaise with our national partners to ensure women and girls’ needs are brought to the attention of policy makers and funders.
I want to thank you all for your continued vital support of the work we do. To face the new challenges ahead, your help is needed now more than ever. Please support us by donating using the link below.
The FORWARD team wishes good health for you, your families, and your communities.
