COVID-19 Emergency Appeal

COVID-19 Emergency Appeal

Since the lockdown, I feel trapped, stuck in a suffocating corner with him. He’s cut me off from my family and friends. I have no one. Everything is in his control.” Sara, London

For some women, isolation is more threatening than Coronavirus

Women at risk, like Sara, urgently need your help to move forward. Sara came to the UK recently with her husband and when the coronavirus lockdown began, he became even more abusive. She feels dependent on him for money, for shelter, even for remaining here in the UK. She’s afraid of what could happen to her and her children if she decides to leave him.

Migrant women are among those hit hardest by the crisis. Struggling with uncertain migration status and fearing deportation, they now have even less access to the vital financial, legal and health support they need.

We are dedicated to helping African women facing any form of violence, whether they are new migrants or have been in the UK for some time. The donation you send now can help our unique team provide women at risk with specialist services such as culturally sensitive advice, counselling and emotional support – or referrals to legal or financial advice.

With your contribution today, FORWARD can help these women create better, safer lives
