FORWARD Executive Director attending the Girl Summit
FORWARD’s Executive Director, Naana Otoo-Oyortley, will be attending the Girl Summit held on Tuesday 22nd July. The summit will rally a global movement, mobilising domestic and international efforts, to end child, early and forced marriage and FGM for all girls within a generation. As one of the leading organisations working on FGM our director will be attending to engage with national and international representatives who have pledged to support the Summit’s call to end FGM and child, early and forced marriage.
FORWARD Youth Programme Lead speaking at the Girl Summit
Saria Khalifa, the lead of FORWARD’s youth programme, Young People Speak Out, will be speaking at the ‘Spotlight on Progress’ session about our schools programme, which aims to engage with young people through schools to tackle FGM. She will be providing an overview of the programme, explaining the lessons learnt from engaging with schools and discussing the importance of involving young people in the campaign against FGM.

We are delighted that a young activist and staff from our project partners, Children’s Dignity Forum in Tanzania, will be flying to the UK to attend the Girl Summit! A young activist from the project will be speaking at the ‘Spotlight on Progress’ session, talking about child marriage in Tanzania and the work Children’s Dignity Forum is undertaking to support child mothers and end child marriage.
