FORWARD Kenya Project Launch
Thanks to the support of the World Bank, FORWARD is now working with PATH (Programme for Appropriate Technology for Health) in Kenya to mobilise men to campaign against FGM in two districts of Kenya: Kisii and Tharaka Nithi.
This is a two-year pilot project which if successful will be used as a model for other countries in Africa wherever Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is practised.
PATH works with a grassroots organisation, Maendeleo. Ya Wanaake – who are well known for their successful campaigns on FGM in Kenya.
FORWARD is delighted that The World Bank is supporting this work and hopes to raise additional joint funding from Comic Relief (UK) and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
