FORWARD’s Musicians Unite to End FGM is an Arts Council England supported project which engages with well-known artists to raise awareness of female genital mutilation, child marriage and all violence against African women and girls. This project aims to raise awareness amongst a much wider audience and to audiences of artists whose countries of origin are affected by the issue.

Corey Harris is based in America. He is a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and band leader who has carved out his own niche in blues, he appeared in the iconic Martin Scorsese 2003 film 'Feel Like Going Home' from The Blues Film Collection where he travels through Mississippi and on to West Africa (feat. Ali Farka Toure), exploring the roots of the music. Corey's seventh album Mississippi to Mali was released in the same year.

A powerful singer and accomplished guitarist, he has appeared at venues throughout the North America, Europe, Brazil, The Caribbean, West Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. He has performed, recorded, and toured with many of the top names in music such as BB King, Taj Mahal, Buddy Guy, Henry Butler, R.L.Burnside, John Jackson, Ali Farka Toure, Dave Mattews Band, Tracy Chapman, Olu Dara, Wilco, Natalie Merchant, and others.
